Time in a Fossil Gum

By Tryphena Louise Williams (c) 2010

Like liquid amber, did it appear
A golden light, it drew one near

A story held, yet to be told
The gum tree blood, of amber gold

The sap its blood, of time it knew
Liquid amber from, its sap one drew

An amber light, flooded one’s mind
Glistening colour of gold, sealed in time

A truth be told, as it is to be
Time sealed, the gum of the tree

Time compressed, yet to expand
Attention placed, within one’s hand

A fossil held, its time sealed within
Attention given, rebirth did begin

A fossil once was, now life anew
A secret told, but known by few

Attention lost, it is no more
Attention given, it is as was before
