Wairere Falls ~ New Zealand

We went walking for an hour or so

In native bush beside the rivers flow

The track was hard and steep at times
Each step we took felt harder to climb

Higher and higher the climb was tough
At times the track got painfully rough

Walking along the rivers reedy bank
In muddy puddles we sometimes sank

The sun was hot as it shone through
A canopy of trees blocked the view

The climb now harder than before
 We struggled up 100 steps or more

The water came cascading down
Creating a loud thundering sound

Looking high above we could see
The track where we needed to be

We felt happy walking in the sun
In another hour we'd soon be done

Standing at the top of Wairere Falls
Was the sound of a native birds call

To the very edge we decided to go
We could see a tramper far below

Then came the time to turn around
Happy in spirit at what we'd found

Massive boulders blocked our path
We made our way on slippery grass

An hour or so and the day was done
Our bodies felt weary from our fun

The track was a challenge this was true
It was worth the effort to see the view

My Son and Daughter

I have a daughter, and a son
Both children to me, are so much fun

Kirsty is like, a friend to me
We spend our time, so happily

Doing things, we love to do
We chatter away, all day through

Hamish comes, to visit with me
He stays for lunch, and then for tea

Hamish is so, good you see
He always keeps, an eye out for me

Thank you Hamish, thank you Kirsty
I thank you both, for loving me

Lost and Found

No one’s come, to claimed me yet
But never mind, I must not fret

The Hungry Caterpillar

Something small, something green

The fat caterpillar, is an eating machine

I watched it wiggle, stretch and grow
Across the green leaves, it did go

Eating here, and eating there
The caterpillar munched, most everywhere

The caterpillar, it had no fear
Even when birds, did appear

Leaving holes, along the way
The caterpillar ate, throughout the day

Crunching, munching, the leaves soon gone
The caterpillar's hungry, and so moves on

Then one day before, too long
I looked for the caterpillar, but it had gone

Grey Hair

This poem is to all who are feeling their grey hairs today!!!

White is white it shines so bright
Within the light all feels all right

One's hair grows grey as it appears
Who gives a toss about grey hairs

Grey hair is a sign of aging years
Love helped us to face our fears

Don't you worry about gery hair
The aging body showing its years

In our hearts we all feel young
Here we meet and have our fun

It can be hard watching life fade
The outer appearance of old age

A loving heart knows we're ok
I am happy living life this way

Grey hair is a blessing in a way
The lovers of life happily play

What's not to love about your grey
Loving friends have nothing to say

I love you way beyond your grey
We are the love I am happy to say

Love doesn't judge the other's grey
What a blessing living life this way

Open pasture, pathways worn
Dew spent grass, greets the morn

Distant hills, of splendid wonder
Upturn clods, reveal down under

Sunlight warm, skin felt its burn
Windless air, shady trees to yearn

Waterways with weed, did fill
Muddy waters left, wasted still

A hare of speed, it took fright
Fear it ran, far from human sight

A daily walk, with dog at hand
Open paddocks, of the farmer's land

Flames flicking, they dance along

Love’s surging passion, one can no longer hide
A burning desire, flames of loving

Lightening flashes, with roars of thunder

Universes created, of formless wonder
New life takes form, deep down under

Once in a Blue Moon

The lover's moon, it shone so bright
Bathing the lover's, in its luminous light

A golden glow, it surrounded all
Tugging ocean waves, its rise and fall

The playful moon, its love a song
A secret kept, love sung along

The moon of one, the moon of two
Within the heart, one’s love did bloom

Although at times, love seemed to fade
True love was born, in the golden age

Life will show, where love needs to be
Loves true surrender, for each to see

The moon is ours, a sign we’re born
Children of the Light, together we’re drawn

The moon of lover's, both near and far
Our love of life, reveals who we are

A promise of love, its secret kept
Some awakened, while others they slept

Love is a song, for all to hear
Our song of love, to show we care

The moon a planet, its love is drawn
Each cresting moon, new life is born

Those who love me, will know my heart
My love of life, never will it part

Love is my world, my reality
To know your name, for love to see

Those who know me, through and through
Will trust in love, no matter the view

God gave us love, to give and share
Love it says to you, I'll always care

*The old adage "once in a blue moon" is actually more common
 than this weekend's perigee. So, while a blue moon appears
 every 2 ½ years, the moon that will be visible this weekend
 only appears this large about every 20 years. *

In times of sorrow, love seeks to speak
To share its love, for others to keep

It seems at times, our world's in turmoil
As the earth it quakes, its timeless coil

The loss of life, brings one to tears
Humanity tested, stirs human fears

What can we do, to help each other?
When tests of life, destroy the other

With love we sing, God gave ITs Word
To sing the HU, each voice is heard

Love it knows, it feels the pain
As life it tests us, yet again

God bless the one's, who need our love
Love brought its message, from worlds above

Love each other, and hold love near
Open your hearts, beyond the fear

Sing our love song, within your heart
Singing HU it heals, love does its part

Singing HU, love fills our hearts
Living a life filled with love, is a start

Teasing and tugging, love's no pretender

In far off lands, love its hazy view
A longing to go, love's yearning too

Seagulls patrolling, up and down
Stopping to peck, while looking around


Cresting waves, of glistening light

Life is such, a wondrous sight

Peaceful sounds, of children at play
Sailing boats, cruising in the bay

A mother duck, she waddles on by
Quacking softly, there's no need to fly

On shady grass, she settles down
 Very content, just to look around

I'm sitting here, upon the beach
Learning one’s lessons, as life it speaks

A Spark of Love

Life its gift of love, silently sleeps for not all seek to see

A spark of love, Soul slowly awakens to hear

God's Light IT’s truth, as wisdom starts appear

No void of loss, nor is there any to gain
All truth is known, Soul's tests of pain

To live God's essence, one's love of all
Soul  to be tested, if its worlds will fall

To feel God's power, Soul knew its way

Never to touch nor games of power to play

No need to hold, each thought is free

Soul learnt its lesson, to let life be

Soul chose its path, to serve all life

Soul's home is found, its golden light

Soul's heart it opened, it heard its sound
Soul's love of all, now homeward bound

Soul found its way,  the truth of karma's hold
