Out Walking Along the Way

By Tryphena Louise Williams (c) 2011

One went out walking. the streets today
A loving happiness. felt along the way

With hills of plenty, a need of strength to climb
Shades of greenery, given as one did find

Streets of houses, lined side by side
Like people's castles, for some to hide

Sounds of busy, the lawn mower its hum
People working, others lazing in the sun

A walk one chose, to take its time
Listening for words, to pen in rhyme

A poet's heart, one's restless flight
Times passing bye, to feel what's right

Out walking streets, of strangers met
The question answered, without regret

Life is a treasure, before one stood
Trees of summery, bark of flaky wood

Problems tested, within each step
Life’s sweet surrender, its secret kept

Home again one's heart, it felt so good
With love restored, as one knew it would
